Inmate Search in Connecticut
An online search for offenders is a
relatively easy task. Thirty-three
states formed an alliance to provide
a free search for offenders within
their jurisdiction through websites
designed for use by the public. Each
state maintains its own independent
web site with variations in the
design of the site, the search
criteria, and the information
presented for viewing. State laws
determine what is permissible for
public viewing.
It is important to note that the
website may not work properly with
certain browsers. In fact, the web
pages may partially load onto your
computer screen, but integral parts
may be missing or fail to load. If
you encounter this difficulty, you
may want to consider using a
computer at a public library to
complete your searches. In some
cases, you won’t be able to tell
because the missing information is
minimal.
Some databases will contain
information only on inmates who are
currently incarcerated, paroled, or
on probation within that state.
Other sites also include inmates who
are deceased, escaped, released, or
no longer resident in the
correctional system.

you will see four search criteria

Number, Last name, First name, and
date of birth. The date of birth
must be presented in the following
format style: mm/dd/yyyy. Directly
below the search boxes, two options,
search all inmates or clear
criteria, are available.

bottom of this page, asserting the
possibility that some inaccuracy may
exist and that anyone who uses the
information contained within the
website is solely liable for any
inaccurate disclosures that are made
using the information. It also
states that individuals who are
listed as incarcerated may not have

in a grid like chart. They include
the following categories: number,
inmate name, date of birth, and
facility. Below the search results
is a link that will allow you to go
back to the previous search page.
The inmate number is a live link
that will provide additional
information. The information
includes the following: inmate
number, inmate name, date of birth,
latest admission date, current
location, status, bond amount,
controlling offense, date of
sentence, maximum sentence, maximum
release date, estimated release
date, and detainer.
